this version of "rhizophora" was recorded during three "living-room concerts", performed at my recording space around christmas 2008. luckily, i still could draw from most of the patches i had previously created for the geräuschwelten concert in april 2006. also, i still had all the electrix repeater loops which i used back then (at that time i had no sampling instrument that was more complex than a prophet 2000). i added some new tools to the music - the prophet 5, the emulators, and the wavestation - in order to come up with some new textures and timbres as well. especially prophet and wavestation allowed me to get deeper into alternative tunings which helped create timbres of unearthly beauty. i set out to recreate the mood of the original recording which took me to some place in indonesia, a region i have never been to for all of my life. in my reckoning, this is one of the quietest yet most intense musical journeys i´ve created so far. enjoy.
