I was walking down Lamar Boulevard
wanted to browse for a short-scale bass guitar.
I knew I was too late, I took the winter-trail
thru the greenbelt, I remember so well.

So my Oscar has gone to the monuments
where the heroes hold guitars not guns in their hands.
